LITCHFIELD — A propane leak forced the Illinois State Police District 18 headquarters to be evacuated for about 40 minutes Friday.
An FS Propane truck was filling up a propane tank at the headquarters shortly before noon when a faulty valve connecting the hose and the tank broke, according to an ISP news release.
An emergency shutoff switch was activated immediately, but a significant amount of propane leaked out, according to the release.
