The presentation is broken up just like it is in the paper, by sections (Egypt, Heartland and Central) and by front page, back page (second front page), pages 2 and 3, and Op-Ed. And without further ado, here are your PRINT HEADLINES.
PAGE 1
SALINE/WILLIAMSON Cos.—EPA inspector dismissed for falsifying documents: Did you hear about this when it happened…? No? I’ll just bet you didn’t…and why? Because it involves Robert Wilson! Good ol ChickenBob, back in the headlines…even though his name was repeatedly redacted by the EPA in the documents. This is something you’ve gotta read…because this affects EVERYONE in Saline County, and quite a few people in Williamson (in particular, in Marion, where the IEPA office is located).
LAWRENCE CO.—No charges in brutal attack: Folks in Lawrence are still awaiting charges to be filed against Tommy Shoulders in the alleged attack on his girlfriend….but he’s being held in jail at this time. What’s this all about? read this piece to stay up-to-date on the situation.
CLAY CO.—Weapons charges in wake of OP: An arrest of a Flora man in early January pertains to an incident involving guns. But what’s been found in the CIVIL filings is of much more interest, and begs the question: Why are authorities seemingly not interested in pursuing the allegations?
GALLATIN CO.—Prosecutor drops ball in standoff: You’ve been reading for months now about Brian Potts after his standoff back in September. But guess what he’s not being charged with…and guess WHY.
HARDIN/GALLATIN COs.—Search continues as some players become embroiled in more and more bizarre antics: Month three of the search for Chrissy Williams has some very strange occurrences developing…and not just Briannah Davis’ arrest. Where are searchers not focusing? We’re examining that in this article.
BACK PAGE
OLNEY—Olney menace fired up and ready to sue: Coverage of Olney city meeting has the ubiquitous whine from town pest Brian James O’Neill, but the interesting thing is the discussion of “street closures” in town.
EDWARDS CO.—Motion to Dismiss filed in contract case: As we predicted would happen last year when it all blew up in Albion, Greenwalt Construction has filed suit over contract work that they’ve done, then was stopped. The city, as well as former mayor Ryan Hallam, were named as respondents…but the city is fighting back, and their arguments are good ones. Read this article to find out what exactly they’re saying.
HARRISBURG—Wheel-man from bank heist charged with steroids: No surprise, considering what was found on a search warrant, but the man charged with being the getaway driver for the alleged bank robber back in October has been charged with steroids. What he was DOING with all those roids, however, may be another matter for another case…stay tuned.
PAGE 3
SALINE CO.—Convicted child molester to file appeal: Todd Fort won’t let things die down and quietly go away. After Judge Mark Stanley told him he doesn’t have a case, Fort’s attorney, Darrell Dunham, notified the court that he would seek appeal of the bizarre lawsuit to the appellate court in Mt. Vernon.
EGYPT
HARRISBURG—Mob action charged in home invasion: For all the posturing and gangsta talk the unimpressive girls who were hanging with Kently Nowakowski put out after their arrests, they sure didn’t bother to tell anyone they were charged with Class X felonies. See by reading this article how some smartmouthed girls are probably headed to DOC.
HARRISBURG—Who is obscuring the grant information, and why?: Part four of the ongoing series about where the Leap Day Tornado 2012 funds are going…and why we can’t find out more than we have so far.
HARRISBURG—Knife pulled, man punched in face at Morello’s: With fights responsible for shutting down bars in Harrisburg either permanently or temporarily, was it a shocker to discover one had taken place at one of the more upscale eateries in town? It was to us.

HARRISBURG—Ambulance call leads to scuffle with cops: Yet another Saline County crim, this one in the venue of violence…alleged, of course.
CARRIER MILLS—Trash service tried to woo village for contract: Coverage of the Carrier Mills board meeting this month makes reference to the trash guy, ChickenBob, and his service wanting tha Mills’ business.
HARRISBURG—Case law forces dismissal of sexual charge: The situation with Jordon Patterson, charged late last year with a crime at one of Harrisburg’s nursing homes…and why it was dismissed.
HARDIN CO.—More rumors of sex for legal favors surface: Taraism at its finest, which includes the reduction of a DUI that is seriously circumspect…and has prompted those in the know to once again issue their opinion on what “Miss Tara” is doing in her office as county prosecutor.
HARRISBURG—Pajama-clad pill-head kicked out of trailer by shoplifter?: Strange little tale kicks off the dope crim roundup this month for Saline County.
HARRISBURG—Crims ‘Breaking Bad’ with poor excuses in the ‘burg: TV being a bad influence much? Hey…at least people aren’t eating other people because of ‘Walking Dead’….
ELIZABETHTOWN—Contentious ‘Sandbags’ Conkle sets the tone for the new year in Elizabethtown: Sandy ‘Sandbags’ Conkle continues to live up to her nickname, taking issue with pretty much everything the E-town village board brings up at the January meeting.
HARRISBURG—Repeat crim tries to sneak drugs past officer: Just when you thought something was going to be done with Miles Maloney…he pops right back into the headlines again.
CARRIER MILLS—Convicted meth felon busted in Carrier Mills: Bad enough to be busted for dope…but it might be recommended that the driver of the vehicle not switch seats with the front seat passenger RIGHT BEFORE the cops approach your car. It just LOOKS bad.
SALINE CO.—Man charged with brutalizing two children: No excuse for this one. Just…none.
ELDORADO—Pharmacy owner issues written apology: Jason Kasiar issues apology to Lyndi for what happened back in November.
HARRISBURG—TIF District plans revealed during first city council meeting of the year: Coverage of the January Harrisburg city council meeting that discusses the new TIF District intentions.
HARRISBURG—Police lay in wait and watch as Harrisburg man allegedly steals tires from Big Dog: We almost had to dump this piece because of space restraints, but I had help edging some other stories around so this one would run…because I KNEW you all would really enjoy reading it.
HARRISBURG—Two charged after the rare meth lab bust: Yes, Harrisburg city police made a meth bust. Yes, it’s rare. Yes, the ones involved are frequent fliers…go figure.
HARDIN CO.—No ambulances available for heart attacks in Hardin: Problems emerging a year after Doc Collier purchases the Hardin County Ambulance Service.
HEARTLAND
EDGAR CO.—Bennett ‘quits’ illegal advisory board…appointment was made illegally as well: What happened to Spandex Queen’s big airport authority appointment? Gone with the wind…or maybe gone with the two planes at the airport that burned up in November.
CRAWFORD CO.—Aggravated Criminal sexual Abuse charged; suspect’s elusiveness prompts brief manhunt: The situation with Greg Payne of Hutsonville emerges in Crawford County…not ALL of it, but at least the preliminary points. CRAWFORD CO.—Creative criminals charged in Crawford: The Crawford County crim roundup features the Christy girls and a host of others in what appears to be very creative (alleged) criminal activity this past month.
CRAWFORD CO.—Civil suit filed by local investor against public officials over arrest, charges, then dismissal: The situation with Stephen Tracy grinds on; with as much as he claims in his case not to like seeing his name in print, he sure is assuring many months’ worth of stories featuring it.
CENTRAL
WHITE CO.—Murderer’s girlfriend convicted at jury trial: The wrap-up of Candice Brown’s jury trial in Carmi, complete with description of the DVD wherein her interview with authorities was recorded.
CLAY CO.—Huffer feature of Clay crim report: The Clay County crim report, which features more good busts by local law enforcement.
LAWRENCE CO.—Corrected Sapp: Correction in print of the error we had in the last issue (January Special Edition) regarding the maker of the Mike “Misfit” Mefford for sheriff site.
LAWRENCE CO.—Suit: city liable for violent cops actions after aggressive 2012 4-wheeler chase: Coverage of PeeWee Darnell’s latest faux pas; if he loses, it’ll be the second expensive lawsuit he and the city of St. Francisville will be paying out on. Maybe somebody at the city needs to get a “day job” like PeeWee has, so they can continue to pay for his skank ass.
LAWRENCE CO.—Trial for Lawrence man accused of DUI with death to kick off in mid-February: The trial many in Lawrence have been waiting for since the incident in July 2011 that took the life of a 7-year-old boy in Sumner.
RICHLAND CO.—Pair of Flora women booted from Walmart after allegedly waltzing out without paying: Remember the reference I made earlier in the Mantel case at Harrisburg’s Walmart? Well here’s another example: just push a cart full of items OUT THE DOOR and see if anyone catches you. In most cases, maybe they do…but we’re wondering how often they DON’T.
EDWARDS CO.—Violence and Burglary charged in Edwards: A brief report of Edwards County crim allegations.
LAWRENCE CO.—Arrest made in C. Smith Manor window busting case: Dude who was having paranoid delusions and was sent to Anna last year to get a grip has finally been charged in Lawrence; other crim roundups accompany the piece.

WHITE CO.—Man alleged to have killed friend in DUI crash retains Downen as defense attorney: The one thing that Camron/Cameron Gunter has going for him—besides a handful of people shrieking “kids will be kids and just wanna have fun!”—is the fact that his family can afford to get Alan Downen to defend him in his latest DUI.
