The person suspected of a shooting NEAR Rebound High School, not AT the school, is in custody.

One adult male was taken to the nearby hospital for an injury sustained, reportedly, in the shooting.

Again, this corrects the original report that the shooting was AT the school…it’s our information from sources on the ground that this shooting occurred NEAR the school, but we don’t have details yet as to exactly where.

CARBONDALE, Ill.—Reports of shots fired at Rebound High School in Carbondale have been confirmed, but as yet, there’s been little input on whether a student has been struck by one of them.

The situation is said to have occurred about an hour and 15 minutes ago: 1:30 or so.

Our sources are advising that a male was taken from the school to the nearby hospital, but there is NO corroborating information from authorities about what it might be treatment for, whether it’s even related to any kind of shots fired, or whether it’s a student or someone in the administration.

We are checking on the status at the school, which likely is on lockdown. Our latest information has it that the authorities know who they’re searching for, but no one is in custody at this time, and there is no known further danger at the school at this point.
