HARRISBURG—A middle school custodian has been arrested on a preliminary charge regarding making threats at the school.
Jeff T. Cowsert, 44, is currently being held at the Saline County Detention Center, this following interviews with law enforcement officials after Cowsert allegedly made threats about “shooting up the school” recently.
According to reports, Cowsert, who was supposedly up for another custodian job, had said at some point that if he “didn’t get the job, some people are gonna be shot.”
Apparently, school officials took the threats seriously enough to call authorities, and he was taken in. After a couple of hours of interviewing him, law enforcement believed, contrary to what Cowsert was telling them (that he was “just joking around”), that there was a danger there, and he was arrested.
Attempts to reach school officials have thus far been unsuccessful; however, we have confirmed Cowsert’s arrest and preliminary charge with Saline County officials, and will bring more as we get it….keep checking back.
