TRAFFIC CRASH AT COUNTY LINE SENDS PASSENGER TO THE HOSPITAL

GALLATIN CO., Ill.—A Norris City teen was ticketed and a Harrisburg woman was sent to the hospital after an accident this morning in Gallatin County…right across the county line from White.

pedestrian, accident, car, wreck, injuryThe accident occurred this morning (Friday, December 20, 2013) at 10:03 a.m. on White County Road 600E at Illinois Route 141 (the White/Gallatin county line).

According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation  the driver of a 2003 Ford F350 truck, Edward B. Healy, was southbound on White County Road 600E, when he failed to yield at the stop intersection with Illinois Route 141 (actual traffic crash occurred in Gallatin County).

The driver of a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis, Gail E. Glass, was eastbound on Illinois Route 141, when Healy’s vehicle crossed into the path of his vehicle.

Neither Healy, nor Glass, received any injuries as a result of the traffic crash. However, a passenger in Glass’ vehicle, Connie J. Glass, age 64, of Harrisburg, Illinois, was transported by the Gallatin County Ambulance Service to Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, Illinois, for injuries sustained in the crash.

Healy was cited by ISP for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident

The Ford F350 was removed from the crash scene by Johnson’s Towing of Eldorado, and the Mercury Grand Marquis was removed by Wright’s Towing of Harrisburg.

ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department and the Gallatin County Ambulance Service.
