CARBONDALE—There’s been another shooting reported in Carbondale, this one occurring yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, December 17, 2013).
The shooting was reported at about 3:40 p.m., and was again reported on the northeast side of town, at the 100 block of North Gum Street. Callers reported there was a man “suffering from a gunshot wound or wounds.”
When officers arrived they did discover one person down with what they called a “non-life-threatening gunshot wound,” and he was transported to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment, while police stayed on the scene looking for evidence at the apartment building at that location.
There were “several holes in a window and door of the apartment” reported, and a door removed from one apartment was taken for evidentiary processing by investigators, with little further comment by the agency (Carbondale police). Look for updates as we get them.
