ELDORADO, Ill.—A fire earlier today (Friday, December 13, 2013) at the Bradley Choisser Hi-Rise in Eldorado was contained quickly and there were no injuries reported.
The exact time that the fire started was unknown, this according to those working at the hi-rise; the only comment they could make in that regard was that it occurred in the “early afternoon.”
The fire occured primarily on the second floor of the three-story building. Some residents will be allowed to stay in the building, depending on the extent of the damages which are being assessed this afternoon.
A 50-man crew that works for a restoration company out of Carbondale will be doing work this afternoon to clean the building and repair it to a level where the majority of residents can stay in the building, but some will have to go elsewhere until their quarters are remodeled.
The cause of the fire was unknown to staff. Eldorado was the only responding fire department.
