Durre was responding to a car-deer accident on the south side of U.S. 50 not far from Stanford Lane when his cruiser was struck by a semi traveling highway 50.
Durre was air-evaced from the scene and taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. It was discovered that he has a broken left collar bone and severe bruising on his left side. However, he is expected to be released from the hospital today after an overnight stay.
