BROOKPORT, IL - Only 12 days after a tornado decimated his town, the mayor of Brookport, Illinois — John Klaffer — has been involved in a two car collision.
Klaffer was airlifted to Evansville, Indiana, to be treated for his injuries.
The vehicular collision happened on the 7800 block of Purcell in Brookport. No information about how the crash happened could be confirmed at this time.
Brookport Alderman John Call said a list of injuries include broken legs, arms, a wrist, his back, and a fractured neck.
The Brookport Town Council will be holding a meeting tomorrow to vote for an interim mayor.
