WABASH CO. – On Sunday afternoon and for the second time in just under 16 hours, the rural Wabash County community of Friendsville became ground zero for some unsolicited excitement.
Late Saturday night, Wabash County Sheriff’s Department aided by Illinois State Police successfully ended an evening-long manhunt in and around Friendsville. Click here for details.
Then on Sunday afternoon, residents of Friendsville again found themselves concerned for their safety as the onslaught of dangerous tornadoes that had been tearing Illinois communities apart indiscriminately statewide suddenly unleashed a fierce funnel cloud in their midst. The Friendsville tornado claimed the mobile home of Mary Broster; unfortunately while she was still inside. Disclosure sources have reported that Mary is critical condtion in the ICU at Deaconess in Evansville. Mary apparently suffered a broken arm, broken ribs and back, and bad damage to her face that will require surgery.
Our prayers are with Mary and her family and we wish her a speedy recovery.
First time storm-chaser Mike Hannah apparently captured his first tornado video while heading north out of Mt. Carmel on College Drive which later becomes Friendsville Road. After Hannah has navigated the s-curves (known to locals as Dunkel’s Curve) before entering the Friendsville area, his video reveals the first funnel-cloud jumping around before the storm eventually gained strength enough to maintain its destined path of destruction.

These stills of the Friendsville tornado also surfaced late Sunday evening.
