MARION—Remember Rodney Marcum? Bricklayer, aka mason? Hubby of Angelina Fonseca? Small-time Harrisburg hoodlum?
Ol Rod is the Harrisburg guy who was fingered by Tim Monroe in a proffer he issued in his 2008 cocaine case as being Monroe’s coke source, the one who had bricks. There was some fun poked at that term, “bricks,” during the Monroe trial…authorities wanted to know if Monroe meant that Marcum had “bricks” of cocaine, or “bricks” for his masonry service.
Monroe assured that he meant bricks of cocaine.
Yeah. THAT Rodney Marcum.
Well, ol Rod has been hemmed up in Williamson County, this according to a police blotter release obtained by our correspondent in Marion:
Rodney Marcum, 37 of Harrisburg has been arrested for Burglary, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Trespass to Property, Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer and Criminal Damage to Property over $500 after the property owner of 2600 W DeYoung St reported a suspicious vehicle on September 19, 2013
We’re working on what exactly 2600 W. DeYoung is…google’s showing it being “Tai Hospitality Corporation.” Those in the Marion area will recognize that as the old Executive Inn…site of the bust from the other day, and the much-maligned site that was a sore subject many years ago as regards real estate in Marion, over which there’s been a kind of power struggle for years.
The Executive Inn, and Tai Hospitality Corporation, will be featured in upcoming articles as we examine the TIF District situation in Marion; article number one is in the current edition, which you can still pick up for the next week and three days at these fine print vendors, or accessible here at the e-Edition with an online membership; just follow the prompts.
In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye on ol’ Rod, just like we always have…and see what kind of mischief he’s been up to lately.
