SALINE CO.—Robin Seets, a well-known man who was most recently living in Arizona, died yesterday at an Evansville hospital
Seets, 49, of Tucson, was involved in a car vs. motorcycle accident a week ago Saturday.
His death was reported prematurely here Saturday morning, due to a mixup between sources who were keeping a vigil at his hospital room and those who were outside the room, and incorrect information was disseminated somehow on Friday night, with multiple sources reaching Disclosure at that time. When more sources contacted Disclosure Saturday morning to report the death, as well as had reported it to a local radio station, we went with it here at the website, but the information was incorrect. Seets died at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2013.
The accident that hospitalized Seets occurred late Saturday, August 31. Evan Edwards, 20, the motorist alleged to have struck Seets in Harrisburg, throwing him off his bike, was arrested on a preliminary charge of DUI-Drugs. Formal charges have not been filed; there’s no word of whether those charges will change with the event of Seets’ death.
Seets is being commemorated by a young lady who’s selling bandanas to wear on a bike ride to be held in his honor.
Ashley Mahan Roper has been at Merle Norman Cosmetics today in Muddy selling the bandanas, but says she still has a few left. The ride will be after the services Wednesday at Reed’s Funeral Home in Harrisburg, with visitation from 9 to 11, and the ride taking place after the funeral at 11. The ride will accompany Seets’ body for burial in Paducah.
