CARRIER MILLS—Saline County authorities have issued a press release on an incident that occurred Saturday in Carrier Mills.
According to the press information, two St. Clair County youths were injured in an ATV accident that afternoon.
Saline County Central Dispatch received a 911 call of an ATV accident on Fritts Road near Pit Twelve Road, approximately three miles southwest of Carrier Mills, at 3:17 p.m. Saturday, August 31. Saline County deputies arrived to find two female juveniles had run off the roadway on an ATV, and struck a culvert, before the ATV overturned.
The two juveniles were flown from the scene to Deaconness Hospital in Evansville, with serious injuries. Neither juvenile was wearing a helmet.
The names of the juveniles have not been released, but they are both from Milstadt, Illinois.
The accident is still under investigation by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, who was assisted by Carrier Mills Fire Department and MedForce EMS.
