FRANKLIN CO. (Rend Lake)—A teen missing from a pontoon boat yesterday morning is still the subject of a search out on Rend Lake this morning.

The 18-year-old, identified as Emilie Jo Turrentine of rural Carmi, went missing on Labor Day (Monday, September 2) during a swim with friends at the popular recreation and resort area.
Four others were with Turrentine out on the waters when she went into the water and did not re-emerge, this not long after 11:00 a.m. Authorities were notified at 11:15 a.m.
Franklin County officials have been searching the area known as the “sail boat harbor” in Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park north of Illinois 154.
There is no foul play suspected, as well as no drugs or alcohol involvement.
The dive crew from Benton Fire Department was on scene yesterday, and Sesser Fire Department as well as Department of Natural Resources were assisting Franklin County with the search.
