EFFINGHAM—A press release from the Illinois State Police regarding both Districts 12 (in Effingham) and 19 (in Carmi) has announced a promotion of a West Salem native to the upper ranks at ISP.

Effingham, IL – Illinois State Police would like to announce Lieutenant Cory Ristvedt as the newly named Interim Commander for District 12 in Effingham and District 19 in Carmi. Lieutenant Ristvedt will assume his new duties on September 1, 2013.
Lieutenant Ristvedt has served eighteen years with the Illinois State Police. He was named the District 12 Operations Officer in January 2011, and received his most recent promotion to his current rank of Lieutenant in April 2012.
Lieutenant Ristvedt stated, “I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the residents of District 12, and now those of District 19 as the Interim Commander.” If you wish to speak to Lieutenant Ristvedt, he can be reached at 217-342-7806.
Lieutenant Ristvedt replaces Captain Morrie Fraser, who has been named the ISP Crime Scene Services Commander. We would like to recognize and congratulate both Captain Fraser and Lieutenant Ristvedt on their new positions.
