CARRIER MILLS—Information is sketchy, but we’ve learned from official sources that a 10-year-old boy remains hospitalized following an incident a few days ago in Carrier Mills (CORRECTED).
According to what we’ve been able to confirm only, the situation stands that a 7-year-old boy and 10-year-old boy were involved in an incident wherein the younger boy poured some kind of fuel on the older boy, lit a match, and set the older boy on fire.
The 10-year-old’s legs were severely burned and he was transported to a St. Louis children’s hospital.
The incident reportedly happened either Thursday, August 15 at 7:45 p.m. We have been in touch with the family and they have filled us in on the correct information as best they can.
It was reported that the younger boy carried out the act after having seen it on a video game, Grand Theft Auto. This is the information reported to the same officials; whether that’s been substantiated by law enforcement investigators remains unknown at this time. We’re working on firming it all up, and will bring it to you when we know.
