ALEXANDER CO., Ill. - Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of a body brought ashore in Alexander County on Monday, April 22.
However, the body has at least been identified as that of a white male.
Authorities in Alexander County in deep southern Illinois advise that the man's body had probably been in the water for about a month. It's estimated that the man may have been between the ages of 25 and 35. They've also advised that he weighed about 180 pounds, and was about six-foot-one to -two in height.
There's been no word on whether anyone has been reported missing in the area, nor thing the more northerly counties above Alexander. However, the river has been high for many weeks, so the body could literally have come from pretty much anywhere that it flows through.
Of course, no one has yet posited a manner or cause of death; and there's also been no word on an autopsy.
If we learn more, we'll post. Be watching.
