Kid who got his start in Richland County now convicted in White

WHITE CO., Ill. - There seems to be some kind of bizarre connection between Richland and White county crims and serious crossover.

Over the years we've covered people such as the criminal branch of the Acord family; offshoots from them such as Derek Randolph; even the sheriff's brother Bradley Maier - all have managed to catch problems in one county then traveling to get in trouble in the other, regardless of where they reside. And they're several counties apart, too; Edwards/Wayne completely separates Richland from White.

But that hasn't stopped the creative crims...and it has prompted a lot of speculation as to the drug trafficking pipeline between the counties, none of which has been uncovered with any definitive certainty.

Whatever the case, the latest person to do the cross-county contamination thing between Richland and White is a kid originally from Richland who spread his version of terror over to Crawford a couple of years ago before taking his talents to White.

The unfortunately-named Trytton K.E. Jarvis (there's a pervasive habit in Richland County of giving children two middle names), now 22, first hit the headlines of our publication in the summer of 2012 when, at age 15, he was named as the putative father of a baby being carried by 13-year-old Tammy J.N. Casey (what'd we say about the middle names), herself recently arrested for Meth Possession in Richland.

Jarvis was arrested in White County back on March 19 on multiple drug-related charges: Class 2 felony Use of a Vehicle or Structure or Property in the process of a Meth Crime, Class 3 Possession of Meth less than 5 grams, and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He'd been jailed since that time at the City/County Jail in Carmi.

Earlier this week (Monday, April 15), someone finally talked some sense into him (which is quite a feat, as his criminal history clearly shows that he possesses very little of that) and Jarvis added a new felony to his ever-growing record: Guilty to the Meth Possession charge, for which he got a slap on the wrist - Two years probation, a stayed 6-month jail sentence, 100 hours of public service work, drug treatment, and of course the impressive fines and fees of $2,427, none of which will likely ever be paid.

Why do we say that...?

Because Jarvis' foray into criminal antics in Crawford County (Phone Harassment, which was plead down from Stalking/Causing Fear for Personal Safety in May of 2015) cost him $1,055.50, of which $730.50 remains to be paid; in Richland, a Class 2 Aggravated Battery involving strangulation was plead down to misdemeanor Domestic Battery in May of 2017, which he hasn't paid a dime of the $383.75 in fines and fees; and a Class 4 felony Reckless Disposal of Hazardous Waste (a hypodermic syringe, which you can read about here) from July 2017, to which he was ordered to spend a year in IDOC in January of 2018 (which translates to six months or less, which should mean that he's still on parole and the White County case is a violation of that; but that's not to be the case. He's nowhere to be found on the IDOC website), for which he owes the full freight of $565.75. So he's up to several thousand dollars in fines and fees, keeps getting into trouble, keeps getting some kind of benefit of the doubt and thus a light slap on the wrist in each county, and a shrug of the shoulders, apparently, over the non-payment of the increasingly-necessary F&F (as we call em around here).

And all this is on top of the juvenile crimes to which we aren't privy (but we know are there because reference to them is in his Richland County files). Of course, those occurred during the tenure of former Richland County State's Attorney David Hyde, who showed favor to young boys who got in trouble in his county until July of 2015 when he quit in the middle of his third term (although not soon enough)...which explains all the other crimes of violence Jarvis was charged with in Richland and subsequently were dismissed nolle prosequi.

And now he's just on probation in White, and for a meth crime of all things.

We've seen this pattern occur over and over and over again, whether it's a cross-county contamination like this, or whether it's restricted to just one county. Kids like Seth Hahn, "Lil Pee" Travis Darnell, the onerous Earp-Trout bunch...they all start early in life and get worse and worse. Sometimes they get what's coming to them, sometimes they don't. But in most cases, they end up with a head-scratcher like Jarvis now is: He's a juvenile offender, he literally should have been charged as a sex offender (not like Hyde would have charged him in the case with Casey - with whom he was reportedly breeding when she was 12, for cryin out loud - Hyde never cared about victims of sex offenses, whether they believed they were willing victims or not), he's a convicted harasser if not stalker, and now a convicted doper. He's 22. He's got no chance if he's still being part of the catch-and-release system...or worse, being used as bait.

But whatever the case, he's out now, and apparently running between Richland and White (hopefully committing some time to public service work.) And we fully anticipate that he'll be back on our bandwidth again in the future...so check back frequently.
