
HARRISBURG, Ill. - Yet another set of gun crimes have been charged against a very young Harrisburg man, who was arrested following an incident last night (Thursday, April 11).
Harrisburg Police advise that at approximately 8:18 p.m. last night, officers responded to the 400 block of West Church Street for a report of a male armed with a firearm.
Officers arrived and spoke with the victim. who alleged a male had come to his residence and pointed a firearm at him, threatening to shoot him.
Officers located the suspect, Zachery Thaxton, 21 of Harrisburg, at 500 W. Church St. Police recovered a loaded handgun, and Thaxton was arrested for Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Thaxton is being held at the Saline County Detention Center on $1,000 bond. HPD said that the Saline County Sheriff's Department assisted in the investigation.
