CARMI, Ill. - A simple traffic stop as well as a vague report of trespassing are the Wednesday offerings from the Carmi police activity report.
The traffic stop was made at Eckerle Park in town at 10:17 Wednesday, April 10, when an officer pulled over Christopher Phillip Sturgal, 30 of Oak Street in Carmi. The report doesn't list it, but the officer apparently knew that Sturgal was driving while license suspended, which was the likely reason for the pull-over. The officer (and the county coffers) got a bonus when it was discovered that Sturgal either didn't have the vehicle insured or was out and about without his insurance creds, and so he was subsequently cited with that infraction, too.
Apparently Sturgal was able to post bond to secure his release.

The trespassing came about earlier in the day, and is featured second here because of the lack of info.
All we know is that it took place at 1:21 p.m. at 606 Crebs Avenue, and the arrestee was Dawn Laree Brennan, 46, of an address on the 300 block of Fifth Street in town.
She was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of Criminal Trespass to Real Property and remained in jail on a $150 cash bond as of Thursday.
