WHITE CO., Ill. - Two individuals, both from out-of-county, were sentenced Monday, April 1, in White County.

Lewis Richardson

White County State's Attorney Denton Aud said that Lewis W. Richardson, 55 of McLeansboro in neighboring Hamilton County, was sentenced on his Aggravated DUI 3 or more convictions, a Class 2 felony, receiving 7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by two years of parole.

Richardson was also sentenced to 7 years in IDOC on a Class 3 felony Possession of Meth charge, which is to be followed by a year of parole. Aud noted that Richardson's arrest was effected by Illinois State Police.

Paul Seagraves

Also sentenced Monday was Paul M. Seagraves, 42, of Eldorado in also-neighboring Saline County.

Seagraves received a sentence of five and a half years in IDOC on a Class 4 felony Domestic Battery count. He's to serve four years of parole upon release.

Aud said that Seagraves was sentenced at the conclusion of a lengthy sentencing hearing that actually was just completed. He'd been on probation but had his probation revoked with the sentencing hearing held Monday afternoon/evening. Seagraves was originally arrested by the Carmi Police Department. Judge T. Scott Webb sentenced Seagraves at the conclusion of the sentencing hearing after receiving evidence and argument from counsel. The standard sentencing range, Aud said, is one to three years in IDOC with a possible extended range of up to six years.
