HAMILTON/WABASH COs., Ill. - Two Illinois State Police special patrols were held so far this month in Hamilton, White and Wabash counties, and they've announced the results of these.

The first was the Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrol (OREP) held in White and Hamilton counties the first part of March (dates not specified). This OREP provided extra patrol coverage for the ISP so officers could focus on saving lives by making sure all vehicle occupants were buckled up.

Then the Roadside Safety Check (RSC) was held in Wabash County from late night Saturday, March 16, to early morning March 17. District 19 Officers conducted the RSC at Illinois Route 15 and Southgate Drive in Mt. Carmel. Here are the results.

Illinois no longer issues the names/ages/hometowns of the alleged offenders like Indiana still does, which is sad, because that was quite the deterrent in the opinion of many. It's also because Illinois is a state full of whiners, whose overpriced attorneys probably got ISP to stop posting names from these patrols like they used to do, circa 2011. Still...good job, ISP. Get these folks under control, because we have to share the road already with people who drive stupid due to cell phones, even when they AREN'T under the influence of anything.
