Flora PD cites driver for passing school bus; other incidents reported

FLORA, Ill. – Flora Police Department caught kind of a break in the action this past week, with a dwindling number of incidents to have to deal with from March 11 to the 16th by comparison to previous weeks.

Here’s your activity report as provided by Police Chief Guye Durre, and it starts with one of those incidents that in other locales has proved deadly for children headed to or from school.

On Monday, March 11 at 5:18 pm, Flora Police issued Patrick A. Spalding, 33 of Flora, a citation for passing school bus, loading or unloading, after an incident in the 300 block of S. Main St.

On Thursday, March 14 at 6:37 am, Flora Police were called to investigate a theft from Car Corral in Flora. Taken were three ATVs and a Gooseneck enclosed trailer. Any information in regards to this theft, call Flora Police Department or anonymous tip at 411Tips.

On Thursday, March 14 at 5:52 pm, Flora Police investigated an accident at W.North Ave and Elm St. Involved were a 2000 Dodge Carryall and a 2009 Dodge 4-door driven by Lauren Edwards, 18 of Xenia. There were no injuries and no citations were issued.

On Thursday, March 14 at 7:00 pm, Flora Police issued Chuck E. Miller, 27 of Flora, a local ordinance citation for Dog at Large.

On Friday, March 15 at 8:53 pm, Flora Police issued Kenneth R. Newman, 32 of Flora, a citation for Driving while License Suspended after a traffic stop in the 300 block of W. North Ave.

On Saturday, March 16 at 9:35 pm, Flora Police arrested Robert D. Reynolds, 23 of Flora, for Disorderly Conduct after an incident in the 700 block of N. Sycamore. He was transported to the Flora Police Department for booking procedures and was released with a Clay County court date.
