
CLAY CO., Ill. - The amounts of bond being posted in Clay County this past week should be good for what ails the county coffers, at least according to this sheriff's report covering March 7 through 14, as provided by Sheriff Andy Myers.
March 7, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Eric Reid, 43, Louisville, on outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Violation of Order of Protection and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $25,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
March 7, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 4:45 p.m. south of the intersection of Hwy 45 and Grove Creek Lane. Apparently a 17-year-old male juvenile, Flora, operating a 2003 Ford pick up, was traveling southbound on Hwy 45, slowed awaiting another vehicle and was struck by a 17-year-old female, Flora, operating a 2003 Cadillac, who was also traveling south. Minor injuries reported.
March 7, Lucas A. Cartright, 31, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Theft of Utility Service. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

March 8, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Kelly Novak, 49, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charges of Resisting a Peace Officer and Criminal Trespass to State Supported Land. Bond set at $5,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.
March 8, Gunner Landreth, 19, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Driver's License Suspended. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
March 9, Gerald E. Baker, 27, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charges of Theft and traffic offenses. Bond set in the amount of $50,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County
Jail.
March 10, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Amy J. Gray, 46, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Theft. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. Gray was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. After appearing in court her bond on the new charge was set at $5,100.00 (10 percent). She posted bond on both charges and was released.
March 11, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Quade Lehman, 21, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Street Racing. Bond set in the amount of $2,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
March 11, Kelly Gouchenour, 41, Wayne City, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.
March 13, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 8:52 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 50 and South Main Street, Clay City. Apparently Michael J. Peters, 53, Johnsonville, operating a 2014 Dodge Truck was traveling east on Hwy. 50 at S. Main when a 2017 Ford operated by Jorri Hitt, 51, Jonesville, Wisconsin entered the intersection and was struck by the Peters vehicle. Hitt, was cited for Failure to Yield at Intersection. No injuries reported.

March 13, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Harry Strange, 31, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Driver's License Revoked, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer and Reckless Driving. Bond set at $5,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
March 14, Steven Strickland, 29, Louisville, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Speeding. Bond set at $7,500.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
March 14, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Diane Berry, 28, Flora, for Driving While Driver's License Suspended. She was given a Notice to Appear and released.
