PALESTINE, Ill. - A man who's already seen a probation violation this year has caught more trouble again after an incident this weekend involving a thrown beer bottle and a damaged Jeep.

The Palestine Police Department investigated a Criminal Damage to Property complaint late Saturday night/early Sunday morning, March 9/10, 2019, said Palestine Police Chief Jeff Besing in a press release today.

Officer Jacob Baxter was called to the 100 block of N. Pike Street in reference to a 2018 Black Jeep Renegade being damaged. Upon Officer Baxter's investigation, it was discovered that Justin L. Burtch, 39 of Robinson, had allegedly thrown a beer bottle at this vehicle, breaking the driver's side mirror and housing on the vehicle.

Robinson Police Department advised Officer Baxter that they had Burtch detained at the Crawford County Jail from an incident that they were investigating at which time Officer Baxter charged Burtch with Criminal Damage to Property, Class 4 Felony.

Burtch was being held in the Crawford County Jail pending bond at the time of the release.
