EDWARDS CO., Ill. - Edwards County State's Attorney Eric St. Ledger has announced the sentencing of a Carmi man in Edwards, this following sentencing of same in White just last week.
Eric F. Brand, 38 of Carmi, was sentenced Tuesday, March 5, to a total of four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of one year of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) in his 2018 Edwards County case.
Brand pled guilty to the offense of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Judge William Hudson was the sentencing judge. Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St Ledger prosecuted the case on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois and public defender Brian Shinkle represented the defendant, Eric F. Brand. The case was investigated by the Grayville Police Department.
