WHITE CO., Ill. - A young man from Enfield, subject to a traffic stop last night in Carmi, landed in jail when the officer found out there was an active warrant for his arrest.
Carmi police reports indicate that the situation occurred early this morning, February 28, at 12:23 a.m.
An officer pulled over Jason M. Sigmund, 23, showing an address on South First Street in Enfield, on Sixth Street at Oak Street in Carmi.
It was discovered that there was a warrant for Sigmund's arrest for Failure to Appear on a Resisting a Police Officer conviction dating back to November 2017. Apparently he'd been making payments but records show he stopped with $348.34 left to go on a $499 fines and fees order.
As of this afternoon, Sigmund remained jailed at the city/county jail in Carmi.
