WABASH CO., Ill. - Too many infractions of the law has prompted a Mt. Carmel woman’s removal from the local rolls and submission to the state for some new digs at a women’s prison.
Patricia Windle, 37, is the gal in question.
Windle is a long-term Wabash County meth problem child, obtaining her first meth felony in 2006 when the third wave of serious meth-slinging was engulfing the downstate Illinois area (the first in 1995, the second in 2001). Her Possession charge slogged through the court system for five years before a resolution, and even then, it apparently did little good.
This past November, Windle was charged with felony Residential Burglary. And as it turned out, authorities opted to go back on a dreaded meth-slinging charge itself Windle caught back in July of 2018 - Class 2 felony Methamphetamine Delivery - this refiling occurring last month, January 9.
Wabash County State’s Attorney Cassandra Goldsmith apparently was able to convince Windle that at this point in time, it would be in her best interests to enter into a plea agreement, and that’s what she did.
Windle accepted a sentence of four years for each charge, with the sentences to run concurrently (at the same time), meaning she'll be out in two years. Upon release she has to serve two years parole.
