MARION, Ill. - The Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit (MPDNU) has scored another hit.

Earlier today (Thursday, February 7, 2019), the MPDNU arrested Jacob R. Diefenbach, 30, after an investigation revealed that he was involved in the distribution of crystal (ice) methamphetamine.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle that Diefenbach was operating. During the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle revealed Diefenbach to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a stun gun.

Upon completion of the traffic stop, Diefenbach was placed under arrest without incident and conveyed to the Marion Police Department for further processing. MPDNU Detectives then executed a search warrant at Diefenbach's residence (in the 1300 block of North Van Buren Street in Marion). A search of the residence revealed an additional quantity of methamphetamine, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.

Diefenbach was issued citations for three counts of Delivery of Metth, one count of Possession of Meth, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Diefenbach was conveyed to the Williamson County Jail, awaiting his first appearance.
