FIRST DEGREE MURDER CHARGED IN REDZONE SHOOTING

WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. -The shooting this weekend that claimed the life of a young Marion man has now been charged as a homicide.

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti has announced today (Monday, February 4) that his office has charged Demetrius D. Crittendon, 43, of Marion with three counts of First Degree Murder for the death of Cedric Marshall, 31, also of Marion.

The State has alleged that Crittendon shot Marshall in the chest with a firearm.

The incident took place in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 3 at the Red Zone Bar in rural Williamson County. Crittendon was taken into custody at the scene, and is currently awaiting first appearance and the setting of bond.

The case is currently still under investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

The autopsy of Cedric Marshall is scheduled for tomorrow.
