FRANKLIN CO., Ill. - Authorities in Franklin County have announced that the body of a man missing since January 23 has been located.
Franklin County Sheriff David Bartoni posted on the Sheriff's Department Facebook page today the following:
On February 2, 2019, at 11:17 a.m., Franklin County Sheriff Deputies responded to a rural area of the Village of Buckner, where members of the Southern Illinois Search Team had located the body of 42-year-old Allen K. Woolard. Woolard had been reported missing on January 23, 2019, at approximately 11:30 p.m. (when he was ) walking away from a residence in the Village of Buckner. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, February 4, 2019, to determine the cause of death. The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the members of the Southern Illinois Search Team and volunteers from the community for their efforts.
The investigation continues with the assistance from the Illinois State Police, Buckner Police, Christopher Police and Franklin County Emergency Management Agency.
