HERRIN, Ill. - The Herrin Police Department and Williamson County Coroner's office have announced that the death of a Herrin man is a homicide, but have provided no information on how he met his demise.

Authorities in Herrin have advised that Jeffery D. Ennis, 50, was found dead at his home in the 700 block of North 17th Street this past Sunday, January 27 at 5:20 a.m.

An autopsy was conducted at some point in time between then and now, but while authorities have declared homicide (death at the hand of another), they've not yet stated how Ennis died.

Herrin and Williamson County authorities are, however, still asking for public input, and have asked anyone for any info to contact them at either 618-942-4132, or Williamson County Crime Stoppers at 800-414-TIPS.
