CUMBERLAND CO., Ill. - A two-vehicle crash this morning sent two women - one age 17, one age 66 - to area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained.

Illinois State Police in District 12 worked the collision, which occurred this morning (Saturday, January 26) at 11:16 a.m.

ISP said that a black 2005 Chevrolet being driven by a 17-year-old female from Neoga was stopped at the stop sign on County Road 200E, two miles southeast of Neoga, waiting to continue northbound.

A black 2016 Ford being driven by Helen Scott, 66, of Toledo, was westbound on Center Line Road.

ISP said that the teen failed to yield to Scott's Ford, and pulled out into her path. Scott attempted to swerve to the right to avoid hitting the teen's Chevy, but her Ford struck the Chevy in the front passenger side of the vehicle.

The Chevy was pushed into the ditch on the north side of Center Line Road and came to rest there. The Ford continued to travel through a field on the north side of Center Line Road and came to rest facing eastbound, several feet west of the intersection.

Both drivers were transported to hospitals via Neoga Ambulance; the teen was taken to St. Anthony's; Scott was taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln. Their current conditions are unknown.

The teen has been cited for Failure to Yield at an Intersection.
