JOHNSTON CITY, Ill. - Authorities have apparently informed the family of Shawn Murphy that the body found this morning at Arrowhead Lake campground in Johnston City is his.
The family of Murphy, the 42-year-old man from Murphysboro who has been missing since December, has placed this announcement on the Facebook page that was designed to advise the public of his status:
It is with great sadness that we confirm that our loved one Shawn was located today. We'd like to thank everyone for all the thoughts, prayers & support over the last several weeks. We are deeply grateful for all the efforts of law enforcement, & everyone who assisted in searching for Shawn. Our family is extremely saddened by this loss, & respectfully asks for privacy at this time.
