CARMI, Ill. - A Carmi man landed in a lot of trouble after local authorities went to serve an Indiana warrant on him and allegedly located questionable items.
Last night (Thursday, January 16, at 6:53 p.m.) Alex R. Ricketts, 31 of the 400 block of Cora Street in Carmi, was arrested by Carmi City Police at Nikki's Place on the main drag in Carmi on a Posey County, Indiana, warrant for Possession of Meth and Neglect of a Dependent.
Apparently that arrest was conducted without incident, but a subsequent search of Ricketts' person when he was taken in for booking revealed a plastic baggie containing suspected methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.
Ricketts was therefore additionally charged with Possession of Meth, and the money that was in his possession was seized.
As of this afternoon (Friday, Jan. 18), Ricketts remained jailed in White County.
