WHITE CO., Ill. - A repeat sex offender is one of two who were sentenced Wednesday, January 2, in White County Circuit Court, although this time, it wasn't for anything related to a sex offense.
White County State's Attorney Denton Aud said that Elijah James, 29, of Carmi, will be doing his latest stint in the Illinois Department of Corrections for Retail Theft. James, who apparently likes to shake up his criminal antics every once in a while, received a sentence of 5 years in IDOC, to be followed by a year of parole. Carmi PD was the investigating agency into that infraction.
The other person sentenced Wednesday was Catherine Pickens, 26, of Harrisburg.
Pickens will be spending three years in IDOC on a Class 4 felony Domestic Battery count she caught; those three years will be followed by four years of parole.
Grayville Police Department was the investigating agency on Pickens' case.
