FLORA, Ill. - With the retirement of former Chief John Nicholson, Flora has a new chief - Guye Durre - and Chief Durre has submitted the end-of-November/early-December departmental activity report.
Thursday, November 29 at 11:08 am, Flora Police arrested Lucas Cartright, 31, of Flora for Theft of Utility Services and an Effingham County Warrant, following an incident in the 800 block of Meadowview Drive. Cartright was taken to Flora Police Department for booking procedures. He posted the necessary cash bond on the warrant and was released with a Notice to Appear on the theft charge.
Thursday, November 29 at 10:49 pm, Shane Cordray, 23, of Xenia was issued a Local Ordinance Citation for Disturbing the Peace, following an incident in the 200 block of East North Avenue.
Friday, November 30 at 1:36 am, Flora police arrested Kristina Perkins, 27, of Xenia for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Expired Registration, following a traffic stop in the 300 block of North Worthey Street. Perkins underwent booking procedures at Flora Police Department prior to being transferred to Clay County Jail.
Friday, November 30 at 2:01 pm, Flora Police investigated an accident on East North Avenue, involving a 2007 Ford operated by Kyle Lewis, 26, of Clay City and a 2010 Ford operated by William Wilton, 35, of Dahlgren. Lewis was arrested for Driving While License Revoked, Improper Lane Usage and Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident. Lewis underwent booking procedures at Flora Police Department and was released with a Notice to Appear.
Friday, November 30 at 5:11 pm, Flora Police investigated an accident on East Scudamore involving a 2014 Ford operated by Zachary Moyer, 24, of Fairfield and an unoccupied 2000 Buick owned by Orville Hatcher. Moyer was cited for Operating Uninsured Vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Saturday, December 1 at 1:39 am, Flora Police investigated a one vehicle accident on Vincennes Avenue involving a 2000 Dodge operated by Harold Austin, 21, of Fairfield. Austin was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident. Austin underwent booking at Flora Police Department and was released with a Notice to Appear.
Saturday, December 1 at 10:45 pm, Eric Esher, 30, of Teutopolis and Jake Hille, 27, of Watson were both issued Citations for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, following a traffic stop on US Hwy 50.
