WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. - Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti has weighed in on the incident almost a week ago that ultimately caused the death of a 3-month-old baby and got Devin O'Daniell, 25, jailed under preliminary battery charges.

From Zanotti this morning:

The investigation into the death of a Marion infant is still ongoing. The State's Attorney's Office is awaiting investigation reports, evidence processing and medical records, including pathology and autopsy reports from out-of-state.

Once the investigation is concluded, further charges will be considered at that time, as per standard operating procedure in a death investigation.

This matter is being treated as a homicide investigation.

The suspect, Devin O'Daniell, is currently in the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the infant's mother during this difficult time.

We have nothing further to report at this time.

While authorities are being mum about details, Disclosure has been looking into the backstory. Yesterday we brought you the presser from Sheriff Bennie Vick advising of "an inmate" having been battered at the county jail, without disclosure as to who, exactly, the inmate was. Our sources on the ground, however, advise that it was O'Daniell, and he was more than a little "battered." The extent of his injuries are unknown to us at this time, but because it occurred while he was incarcerated, you, the taxpayers of Williamson County, paid for his treatment, as he was in the custody of the county...and any further brutalization of him will result in same, and could result in lawsuits against the county, which far too many people fail to realize.

As to "the infant's mother," we're currently looking into claims that there have been previous Department of Children and Family Services actions against her. DCFS isn't the most forthcoming agency, but they can at least confirm; and that's something we're working on today. The mother, 32-year-old Claudia Marie Bolivar nee Mocaby, we've discovered, does have a criminal record (misdemeanor, after being reduced from a felony charge in 2015) and has been the subject of numerous Orders of Protection, all of this in Franklin County; so any more we find out will be published in subsequent posts. Be watching.
