CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - Crawford County State's Attorney Matt Hartrich managed to get some prison sentences for three crims in his county this week, all of them occurring on Monday, November 26.
The first was Kenneth Holliday, 33 of Robinson, who got two years in Illinois Department of Corrections on an Unlawful Possession of Meth charge he caught earlier this month, November 12. There's nothing magic about the sentence, which was a plea deal in exchange for the dismissal of a September Meth Possession, struck after authorities probably advised Holliday that his subsequent screwup on the year was the one that was going to get him nailed if he didn't take a plea. He'll spend just enough time in IDOC to get mad about it, go through withdrawals, and about the time those wear him out, he'll get back on the street and probably do it again.
Next was Anthony Daugherty, 32 of Robinson, who apparently wasn't that big of a threat to young girls as he was made out to be...although his previous victims might beg to differ.
Daugherty, too, landed a plea deal after being charged with multiple felonies in recent months. Thus far this year, Daugherty, a registered sex offender, was charged with Violating the Sex Offender Registry and Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer (both in February); then a September Aggravated Domestic Battery, a Class 2 felony. That one was amended to a Class 3 felony and this is what he pled guilty to. He got 30 months in IDOC, again, just long enough to make him mad (as it'll be cut in half and maybe more depending on how long he sat at the Crawford County Jail) and probably not forestall anything when he gets out.
Then Justin Brown, 24 of Robinson, was sentenced for his May 2018 Unlawful Restraint charge.
He, too, got a minimum two-year sentence, meaning he'll be inprocessed, sit in Graham for awhile, and then outprocessed just as quickly.
