HAMILTON/WHITE COs., Ill. - Illinois State Police (ISP) District 19 Commander, Captain Cory Ristvedt, has announced the results of two special patrols conducted in White and Hamilton counties.
The first featured is Nighttime Special Traffic Enforcement Patrol (sTEP) conducted during the late evening hours of November 9 and early morning hours of Nov. 10, 2018.
This sTEP Patrol allowed the ISP to provide increased enforcement for impaired driving, occupant restraint, speeding, and distracted driving violations during the National “Click It or Ticket” Campaign.
Below are the results.
Then an Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrol (OREP) was held in White and Hamilton Counties during November. This OREP provided extra patrol coverage for the ISP so officers could focus on saving lives by making sure all vehicle occupants were buckled up.
Below are the results.
Most motorists know safety belts save lives, but some ignore their safety and that of their families by neglecting to use safety belts and child restraint devices. These patrols reinforce the occupant protection message by focusing on those who ignore the law. Lives can be saved if people simply “buckle up!”
