EDWARDS CO., Ill. - The Tennessee woman whose nutty behavior back in late August of this year prompted text alerts to go out from the Edwards County Sheriff's Department has been sentenced for her misdeeds.
Sandra M. Gonzales, 39, of Afton, Tennessee, was the barefoot, white-dress-wearing, fleeing suspect featured in this text alert from August 25, 2018:
Gonzales pled guilty to the offenses of Fleeing and Eluding a Peace Officer in a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and Burglary. Besides the confinement time, Gonzales has been ordered to pay $1,045.98 in fines and fees, none of which has been paid.
There's been no official word on what on earth Gonzales' problem was that prompted the whole chase-and-crash and running-away-barefoot thing that lead to her arrest and charges.
The case was investigated by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department with assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the Illinois State Police.
