CARMI, Ill. - A couple of traffic infractions as well as a stolen purse comprise the Carmi city police department report for Thursday, October 25.
Carmi police stopped Christopher Phillip Sturgal, 30, of Norris City on Fifth Street at Stewart in Carmi at 10:54 a.m. and arrested him for Driving on a Suspended License.
Sturgal was booked but was able to bond out with the requisite $150 plus a $20 booking fee.
The next was an octogenarian whose age kept him from getting locked up over the infraction, which was probably nothing but a couple of oversights on the part of the old guy.
Herbert Wayne Haas, 84 of Carmi, was stopped on Main Street at Marshall in Carmi yesterday at 12:21 p.m. on an initial charge of No License Plate Displayed. However, once all was said and done, he was also charged with Driving on a Revoked License.
Haas was booked, but given a recognizance bond due to health and age.
And then Melinda Rankin on Gilpin Street in Carmi reported yesterday at noon time that someone stole her Michael Kors purse with medication in it, having taken it from a vehicle in front of her house on October 19. Authorities said that the vehicle was left unlocked.
