PALESTINE, Ill. - Palestine Police Chief Jeff Besing had an interesting traffic stop last night (Friday, October 19) that resulted in the arrest of several area folks, most of them from Willow Hill in neighboring Jasper County, one with an Indiana no-bond warrant waiting for her.
Besing said that at approximately 9:17 p.m. Friday night (October 20, 2018) he stopped a 2005 green Ford Escape on Route 33 at Gordon Junction as the registered owner was wanted out of Knox County, Indiana for a felony "No Bond" warrant.
Arrested on the Knox County warrant was Jamie L. Turner/Baer, 37 of Willow Hill, for Petition to Revoke for Felony Theft.
Also arrested was Joshua A. Baer, 27 of Willow Hill for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Scheduled IV narcotic).
Trevor M. Evans, 20 of Willow Hill, was taken in for Disorderly Conduct, Class C Misdemeanor and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Gloria K. Villa, 41 of Robinson, was arrested for ordinance violations of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, less than 2.5 gms and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
All subjects were transported to the Crawford County Jail where they were charged, processed and are being held in lieu of bond. Villa was released on her ordinance citations.
Assisting Chief Besing with this arrest was Robinson K-9 Officer Nathaniel Nicklaus, RPD Officers Isiah Osborne, Gabe Lowrance and Jacob Leek, and Crawford County Deputies Lucas Wallace and Troy Wolf.
