MT. CARMEL, Ill. - This week’s Mt. Carmel City Police activity report features a guy who came all the way up to Wabash County north of his home county of Williamson to get a citation, as well as one o the area’s hispanics causing trouble.
The report begins with the September 24 incident involving the Williamson County guy: Mt. Carmel Police arrested James L. Major, 29, of Johnston City, for Driving While License Suspended following a traffic stop at Third Street and Lambert Drive. Major was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending the posting of a $150 cash bond.
The 26th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Jeffery B. Sutton, 51, and a male juvenile relative for Domestic Battery following a complaint about an ongoing domestic dispute at a residence in the 100 block of Southview Drive. Officers arrived on scene and investigated the complaint. Officers found evidence to indicate both Sutton and the male juvenile had battered each other, so both were placed under arrest. Sutton was held pending a bond setting by a judge while the juvenile was charged and released to a family member.
The 27th was an active day for Mt. Carmel Police
That Thursday, they arrested Chad M. Covalt, 30, of Mount Carmel, for Driving While License Suspended following a traffic stop at Bellmont Street and Copp Avenue. Covalt was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending the posting of a $150 cash bond.
Also on that day, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Ramiro Xoca-Xolo (if that is actually his real name), 34 (or real age, for that matter), of Mt. Carmel, for Domestic Battery following an incident at a residence in the 100 block of E. Second Street. Police were called to this residence to investigate a domestic dispute. Once officers investigated the complaint, they placed Xoca-Xolo under arrest for battering another resident inside the home. Xoca-Xolo was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending a bond setting by a judge.
And lastly on the 27th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Brandon L. Garrett, 25, of Mt. Carmel, for Domestic Battery following a complaint about a domestic dispute in the area of Ninth and Plum streets. Officers arrived to the area and found that Garrett and his girlfriend were the involved parties. Officers spoke to several witnesses who reported seeing Garrett batter the girlfriend. Garrett was placed under arrest and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held until bond was set by a judge.
Sept. 28, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Michael T. Walker, 38, of Mt. Carmel, for Driving While License Revoked and Operating a Vehicle with Suspended Registration. Police stopped Walker in the 500 block of Oak Street for the registration issue and found his license was revoked as well. Walker was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending the posting of bond.
