CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - A woman who, at age 50, is old enough to know better than to get caught up in a meth crime, did so anyway yesterday in Crawford County.

Palestine Police Chief Jeff Besing reports in a press release that last night (September 28, 2018) at approximately 8:07 p.m. he initiated a vehicle stop on a truck at Route 33 and Ethanol Plant Road (CR1725E) for suspicion of DUI.

Robinson K-9 Officer Nathaniel Nicklaus and K-9 Dex assisted Chief Besing on this vehicle stop, which resulted in the passenger of the vehicle (identified as Elizabeth A. Chiodini, 50 of Palestine) being arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony; Obstructing Justice, a Class 4 felony; and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol-Passenger. Chiodini was also issued an ordinance citation for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Chiodini was transported to the Crawford County Jail where she was charged by Chief Besing, processed and is being held in lieu of bond being set by the judge.

The driver of the vehicle was not charged and was released.
