UPDATE
Earlier today we received info that Tye's arrest was based on a stupid social media post (on Snapchat, one of the stupidest of social networking pages) about "shooting up a school," which was seen in another state - Oklahoma - and which prompted the person who saw it there to notify authorities. It was tracked back down to Robinson and Tye was arrested. The general consensus is that he probably wasn't at all serious, but these days, that doesn't matter, as we have unstable people like Treston Miller actually behaving in insane ways and THEN posting on the repulsive topix forum that he would shoot up a school. No one is adding to this story about Tye - in that he has been behaving strangely, erratically, whatever - so the likelihood that he was just "joking around," as many of these local punks who get charged with this kind of thing are, is a good one.
Sad that authorities won't go after people when they actually commit crimes but the victim "isn't credible," yet they want to make a big deal out of no crime being committed, just some dumb kid acting like it will be.
Below is the original article.
ROBINSON, Ill. - Robinson police have made an arrest early today, this after a teen allegedly made a terroristic threat.
Details are few, but what RPD is saying is that Derek S. Tye, 18, of an address on North Whitetail Hollow, Robinson, has been jailed in Crawford County on a single charge of Falsely Making a Terrorist Threat.
Tye was taken into custody and to the jail at 7:12 a.m. this morning, where he remains as of this notice.
Further updates will be made here at the post.
