MARION, Ill. - A 17-year-old male has been missing from Marion since the end of August, and authorities are now in on the action and asking for the public's help.
Marion Police advise that DaVaughn L. Graves, 17, was last seen by his mother leaving their Marion residence on August 24 at about 4 p.m.
At that time, the boy was wearing a blue sweatshirt and white pants. He's further described as a black male with close-cropped dark brown/black hair, brown eyes, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 130 pounds.
Police have been advised that Graves is a habitual runaway; nevertheless, his absence is causing concern. He was last spotted about a week ago, riding a bicycle on Souther Liberty Street in Marion. It's believed that he might be in the Williamson County (Marion) area, or Jackson County (Carbondale) area.
Graves has been entered into the state and national databases as a runaway juvenile. Anyone who has information on his location is asked to contact the Marion Police Department at 618-993-2124 or their local police department.
