CARMI, Ill. - Illinois State Police (ISP) would like to announce the arrest of Tony Maurice Boose, age 31, of Raleigh, North Carolina, on multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop earlier today on Interstate 64 in rural White County.

Boose is currently in the White County Jail in Carmi charged with DUI-Drugs; Possession of Cannabis more than 2,000 grams, but less than 5,000 grams; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Illegal Possession of Alcohol; Speeding; and a Motor Carrier Safety Log Book violation.

During the early morning hours of September 27, an ISP District 19 Trooper stopped a truck tractor/semi-trailer combination vehicle, driven by Boose, for speeding on Interstate 64 in rural White County. During the traffic stop, the Trooper discovered over 3,000 grams of cannabis, cannabis edibles, cannabis wax, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and an open alcohol container. In addition, over $130,000 cash was located and seized from the cab of the truck tractor.

“Once again, this arrest serves as an example of how traffic enforcement can lead to the removal of dangerous drivers and illegal drugs from our highways,” stated ISP Captain Cory Ristvedt. “We are committed to keeping our communities safe by removing illicit substances from our roadways,” he added. The Southern Illinois Drug Task Force (SIDTF) and the White County State’s Attorney assisted ISP with this investigation.
