FAYETTE CO., Ill. - A man from Vandalia was injured and cited after a crash this morning which caused his vehicle to overturn...and cited after cannabis was found.
The single-vehicle crash occurred this morning (Thursday, September 27) at 9:20, according to reports from Illinois State Police in District 12.
ISP said that a tan 1998 Chevrolet Blazer being driven by Colton J. Hagy, 23, of Vandalia, was traveling west on U.S. Route 40 just south of Interstate 70 at the Brownstown exit.
Hagy said he fell asleep and left the roadway to the left. The Blazer went down an embankment and overturned onto the driver's side.
Hagy was flown by Arch helicopter to Barnes Hospital due to his injuries, which ISP didn't specify.
Hagy was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Operating a Vehicle Without Insurance, and Possession of Cannabis Under 10 grams.
