PALESTINE, Ill. - Conventional wisdom would dictate that if you're not going to tend to your active warrants, you probably shouldn't be out and about...especially behaving 'suspiciously' in a city park.
Palestine Chief of Police Jeff Besing said that earlier today (Thursday, September 20) at approximately 11:40 a.m., he received a complaint of suspicious people under a picnic shelter in Leaverton Park.
Upon Chief Besing checking on the individuals, it was found that a female subject identified as Trinita A. Christensen, 40 of Palestine, was wanted on an active warrant out of neighboring Jasper County for Failure to Appear on a traffic-related charge.
Chief Besing placed Christensen under arrest and transported her to the Crawford County Jail where she was served her warrant and is being held pending extradition back to Jasper County Jail.
And don't forget (because apparently the word is slow getting out, since we didn't take it to our now-defunct Fecesbook page) - We're no longer producing the print version, so you won't be getting anymore copies in the mail. We will be refunding all print subscribers, so watch the mail for your refund....and use it to subscribe to our online version, which is in the process of getting reworked and will be rolling out very soon!
